About
A social-impact initiative by ALYSSIUN.
ALYSSIUN Foundation applies the same engineering the company uses to build its products to problems that are not commercially interesting.
Why it exists
Capability is unevenly distributed.
A small organisation with no technical staff, a person managing a situation no software was written for, a service held together by spreadsheets — these are ordinary engineering problems that never get an engineer, because nobody can pay for one.
The Foundation takes a small number of those problems seriously, documents them properly, and publishes what happened.
How it is run
Decisions have names and dates.
Applications are reviewed by the ALYSSIUN Foundation team. Every status change is recorded with who made it and when, and privileged actions are written to an append-only audit log.
Applicant information is confidential by default. It is used to assess and deliver an application, and published only with explicit, specific, withdrawable consent.
